NanoDeck

The world’s most advanced modular solar energy platform built for marine environments.

NanoDeck can transform the vast unused surfaces of ships into active energy assets. By harvesting solar energy, it generates three-phase AC electricity that feeds directly into the vessel’s power grid – powering navigation equipment, engine room machinery, accommodation, and cargo operations.

Unlike land-adapted systems, NanoDeck solar tiles are engineered for saltwater exposure, high vibration, dynamic loading, and the real constraints of active, working decks.

Built for every fleet

Whether you’re running an existing diesel-powered fleet or transitioning to alternative fuels, NanoDeck fits – it is fuel-agnostic, retrofit-compatible, and works across all vessel types.

It also integrates seamlessly with other decarbonisation technologies, such as e-fuels and wind-assisted propulsion, as well as energy-saving devices like air-lubrication, hybrid battery propulsion and ultrasonic systems.

Unlike biofuels or e-fuels, NanoDeck generates renewable electricity with minimal operating cost once installed.

Benefits of NanoDeck

  • High conversion efficiency: Photovoltaic (PV) cell technology captures up to 25% of solar energy

  • Superior performance: The power conversion units are designed to deliver electricity with minimal energy losses, offering as much energy as possible in areas with low solar intensity

  • Cost-saving solution: Once installed, it produces power at virtually no cost per megajoule

  • Carbon compliance: It supports compliance with FuelEU Maritime and IMO NZF standards while improving a vessel’s Carbon Intensity Indicator (CII) and reducing carbon allowance expenses

  • Seamless integration: It can be installed on new builds or retrofits without major structural changes, delivering immediate efficiency gains

  • Upgradeable: As solar technology advances, panels can be swapped out to keep performance at its peak

  • Transferable: The system can be moved to another vessel at minimal cost

  • High redundancy: It is designed for harsh marine environments and active cargo operations, with four levels of built-in redundancy

  • Energy dashboard: Real-time data facilitates emissions reporting and kWh-based invoicing

  • Performance monitoring: Continuous system insights and optimisation recommendations are built in
