NanoDeck™ can transform the flat surfaces of ships, like decks and hatch covers, into active energy assets. By harvesting solar energy, it generates three-phase AC electricity that feeds directly into the vessel’s power grid – powering navigation equipment, engine room machinery, accommodation, and cargo operations. Its distributed architecture maximises energy generation across available deck space while localised power optimisation helps maintain performance in changing operating conditions.
Unlike land-adapted systems, NanoDeck™ solar tiles are engineered for saltwater exposure, high vibration, dynamic loading, and the real constraints of active, working decks. Each tile is walkable, capable of supporting loads of up to one ton, and designed for continuous offshore operation with minimal maintenance throughout its 20-year operational lifespan.

It also integrates seamlessly with other decarbonisation technologies, such as e-fuels and wind-assisted propulsion, as well as energy-saving devices like air-lubrication, hybrid battery propulsion and ultrasonic systems. Unlike biofuels or e-fuels, NanoDeck™ generates renewable electricity with minimal operating cost once installed and continues producing clean energy both at sea and in port.
